The Challenge

The Nation’s Premier Emergency Response Organization needs the ability to monitor and control its equipment remotely for when it is deployed to the world’s most far-flung crisis regions. Satellite communications technology is critical for the transmission of data within a deployed team or externally to dispatchers at HQ.

The frontline of any disaster event is likely to be chaotic and confusing, so an important part of crisis response is full situational awareness both before and during the event so that relief teams are prepared for what they are going into and how to handle the event once they are there.

The Solution

By combining GPS and the power of Globalstar satellite networks, OSC’s SmartOne B trackers transmit custom, one-way messages that show the assets’ respective GPS locations as well as their journey history or movements in and out of a set region.

OSC’s advanced mapping portal shows the tracking devices in near real-time from a PC or mobile device through a Google Maps™ overlay. OrbitalTrack also caters for geo-fencing and user alerts based on numerous events such as excess speed, location changes, power on and off, and start or finish of journeys.
